This evergreen fern from Northeast Asia is commonly known as Holly fern or Korean rock fern and grows into a shuttlecock-shaped plant, up th 18 in. (45 cm) high, with broad, dark green fronds. Each frond is lance shaped, with spiny-toothed and pointed pinnae.
